Brief Description: This study aims to conduct the phase I of a nationwide oral health survey among the WHO-defined index age groups, with focus in Luzon (excluding NCR) and Visayas, to obtain information on the current national oral health status. Specifically, it aims to: determine the prevalence of the different types and severity of common oral diseases and conditions afflicting Filipinos, particularly focusing on dental caries, periodontal diseases and soft tissue/abnormal growth in the oral cavity among the WHO-specified index age groups, gender, urban-rural residence and targeted regional cluster; and determine the association of behaviors (tooth brushing habits, dental health-seeking behaviors), environmental factors (such as dental services) and other related risk factors (such as smoking and eating habits) with dental caries and periodontal diseases.
